Welcome to Bruach Na Carraige
![]()
Located on the borders of counties Cork, Kerry and Limerick, the Bruach Na Carraige centre in Rockchapel is a celebration of Irish music and culture as expressed in the authentic style of Sliabh Luachra traditions. Sited in a community dedicated to keeping the culture of the Sliabh Luachra area alive, the centre conducts evenings of music, song and dance which maintain the distinctive ethnicity of the region.

Traditional music and culture has been part of the lives of the people of the Sliabh Luachra area for possibly thousands of years and is still vibrant to the present day. Much of the traditional music found in Ireland can be cosmopolitan and even contemporary. To find the real authentic style of traditional music and culture it will be necessary to go to more discreet locations amongst the mountains and valleys where the traditions have lived undisturbed and unchanged for generations. Such a location is Bruach Na Carraige.
Bruach na Carraige includes an auditorium capable of holding 100 people as well as an exhibition area which is used as an interpretative centre on Sliabh Luachra, and a full archive and library.
